Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named Medeama SC and FC Samartex as his early favorites for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.
His prediction comes after watching Medeama’s narrow 1-0 win over Legon Cities in Matchweek 2 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Addo, who had also observed Samartex’s dominant display in their Ghana Super Cup triumph against Nsoatreman at the revamped TNA Stadium, shared his thoughts on the competition.
He noted that both Medeama and Samartex have shown impressive form early in the season, making them strong contenders for the title.
“From what I saw from Medeama and also Samartex, they are doing well,” Addo said after the Medeama vs. Legon Cities game. “So maybe it’s between these two, but I haven’t seen all the matches yet. I’m eager to watch Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and the other top teams before making any final judgment.”
Despite his early picks, Addo remained cautious about predicting the league’s ultimate winner, emphasizing that the season is still young. He also revealed his intention to attend more Ghana Premier League matches throughout the season to scout home-based talent for the national team.
The Ghana Premier League continues to heat up, with Addo keenly observing as teams battle for the coveted title.
