Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has praised the progress of the Ghana Premier League, noting significant improvements since Medeama SC’s championship two seasons ago.
Addo’s remarks followed his observation of the match-week two fixture between Legon Cities and Medeama, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Medeama at the Legon Stadium.
In a press briefing after the game, Addo shared his optimism about the new season, emphasizing that while it is still early, the league seems to be gaining momentum.
“This is my first season observing the league closely,” Addo stated. “At the end of the last season, I reviewed some videos, and it was generally okay. But I think it’s picking up and becoming more interesting. It’s still early, so we’ll need to watch how the season unfolds.”
He continued, “When I compare it to two years ago, there has been noticeable improvement in the overall performance. I’m keen to see how the players continue to perform.”
Addo also revealed his plans to attend more Ghana Premier League matches this season to scout for local talent and assess potential call-ups for the Black Stars.
