Ghana international Jerome Opoku has chalked a piece of milestone for himself after reaching a century of official matches for Turkish outfit Başakşehir.
The Black Stars defender played his 100th game for the Turkish top-flight side on Saturday, as they picked a 2-1 win against Karagumruk at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadium, Istanbul.
Opoku started and enjoyed the full throttle of the game, helping his club secure all three points in the game.
“Our footballer Jerome Opoku has earned the honor of playing in his 100th official match with the club.” the club announced on its official (X) account.
Opoku, a former Fulham FC players, who has pass completion rate 88.98% (56.27 passes per game, would be hoping to keep his impressive form in the Turkish League as he chases his first-ever World Cup slot with the Black Stars under head coach Otto Addo when he announces Ghana’s squad on 1st June, 2026 for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Canada and the United States.
