Ghanaian defender Rockson Yeboah produced a commanding performance as IFK Göteborg secured a 2-1 victory over Brommapojkarna in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
The centre-back opened the scoring in the 54th minute with a powerful header from Tobias Heintz’s corner, giving his side a deserved lead after a dominant defensive display.
Yeboah was outstanding throughout the contest, registering a game-high 13 defensive contributions as he consistently won aerial battles, made crucial clearances and helped frustrate Brommapojkarna’s attacking efforts.
The visitors briefly restored parity through Oliver Berg’s counter-attacking finish, but IFK Göteborg responded late in the game. Sebastian Clemmensen scored the decisive goal from inside the box following another set-piece situation to secure all three points at Gamla Ullevi.
The performance continues an impressive 2026 campaign for Yeboah, who has now featured in 12 league matches, contributing two goals and one assist while establishing himself as a key figure in Göteborg’s defence.
With momentum on their side, IFK Göteborg will now turn their attention to European football, with a UEFA Conference League qualifying clash against FCI Levadia next on July 21. Yeboah’s aerial ability and defensive leadership will be vital as the club begins its continental campaign.
