Following Ghana’s Black Stars’ narrow 2-1 defeat to Nigeria, forward Antoine Semenyo shared his thoughts with the press, shedding light on the team’s new approach and reflecting on the match.
Addressing the media, Semenyo highlighted the team’s shift in philosophy, emphasizing their focus on ball possession in the game against Nigeria. “We came into the game with the philosophy of keeping the ball, and we played very well today against Nigeria,” he remarked.
Despite the defeat, Semenyo expressed confidence in the team’s performance, noting their control over the game against their arch-rivals, the Super Eagles of Nigeria. “We really played well today; just that it was unfortunate we were reduced to ten men early in the second half, and who knows, maybe we would have had a better result,” he added.
Semenyo’s impressive form at AFC Bournemouth in the English Premier League this season has been noteworthy, with six goals and three assists to his name. His contributions on the field have been pivotal to his team’s success.
Looking ahead, Semenyo is expected to feature prominently in the starting lineup on Tuesday evening as Ghana prepares to take on Uganda in another friendly game. His presence and form will undoubtedly be crucial as the Black Stars aim for a positive result in their upcoming fixture.
