Former Ghana U23 midfielder Kwame Poku has been awarded the League One Player of the Month for October, celebrating a stellar month with Peterborough United. Poku, who also took home the honor in September, contributed two goals and four assists across six games in October, securing back-to-back Player of the Month titles.
Expressing his joy, Poku shared, “I am obviously delighted to win the award and over the moon to be able to win it back-to-back. I am happy with how things have been going and it is all about hard work and trying to be as consistent as I can.” He added, “While I didn’t score as many goals last month as the previous one, I am just as happy creating goals as scoring them. Hopefully, I can keep those numbers strong during the month of November!”
Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson commended Poku for his consistent impact on the team. “It is a fantastic achievement for Kwame to win back-to-back Player of the Month awards and is wonderful recognition for the way that he has performed.
He has followed up his form in September with another strong month in October and has been a real threat. He continues to create and score goals for us and is in a really good place at the minute,” Ferguson remarked.
Poku’s dedication and consistency have proven vital to Peterborough’s success, and he looks forward to maintaining his performance throughout November.
