Following Columbus Crew’s triumph against FC Cincinnati, Ghana international Yaw Yeboah finished the MLS playoffs as the Eastern Conference champion.
The left-footed player played for 76 minutes as the Crew won the final 3-2 after extra time in the early hours of Sunday.
Cincinnati took the lead after 14 minutes at TQL Stadium, thanks to Brandon Vazquez before Luciano Acosta increased the lead just before halftime.
The Crew, on the other hand, fought hard in the second half and tied the score in the 86th minute, forcing the game into overtime.
Christian Ramirez, who had come off the bench, scored five minutes before the end of the game to complete the comeback and give the Crew the victory.
Yeboah was instrumental in his team’s postseason berth, scoring eight goals in 26 regular-season appearances.
Colombus Crew won the Eastern Conference and will now face the Western Conference champions, Los Angeles FC, in the MLS Cup final on Saturday, December 9.
