Former Ghana star midfielder Michael Essien says former Chelsea player and manager Frank Lampard is the best player he has ever played with.
The two midfielders played together at Chelsea FC in their heydays at the Stamford Bridge club winning trophies together.
According to Essien, every player he played with is loved by him but would choose Lampard as the best because he scored so many goals as a midfielder.
The former Ghana star revealed this in an interview with Goal Africa, stating his admiration for all his teammates but ultimately singled out Lampard as the standout player.
Everybody is my teammate. I love all my teammates; I mean it’s hard to choose. But I would go for Frank Lampard. I mean, being a midfielder that scores a lot of goals every season is quite amazing.”
The pair won many titles including the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Community Shield, and the Football League Cup.
