Ghana international Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is expected to leave German Bundesliga side Freiburg at the end of the current season.
The midfielder, who joined Freiburg from St. Pauli in 2022, arrived with high expectations after impressing in the German second division.
However, his progress was significantly affected by a serious anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury early in his spell at the club, which kept him out for an extended period and limited his impact in the first team.
Since then, his time at Freiburg has been largely defined by recovery and rehabilitation rather than regular competitive appearances.
Despite his injury setback, Freiburg are said to have supported his recovery process, and his recent appearances for the club’s U23 side in the Regionalliga Südwest have been seen as a positive step in regaining match fitness.
Reports from Germany indicate that both Kyereh and Freiburg have agreed to part ways at the end of the season, with the player unlikely to feature again for the senior team this campaign.
The decision brings to an end a difficult chapter for both player and club, with Kyereh now expected to focus on securing regular playing time elsewhere.
The Ghana international, who has earned 18 caps for the Black Stars, remains an important figure in the national team setup due to his creativity and experience in attacking midfield roles.
He is reportedly aiming to regain full form and secure consistent club football ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
With his departure imminent, Kyereh is expected to attract interest from several clubs across Europe as he prepares for the next stage of his career.
