Ghana international Elisha Owusu helped his team KAA Gent beat Majeed Ashimeru’s RSC Anderlecht to win the Belgian Cup on Monday.
Owusu, who recently played his first-ever international game for Ghana, enjoyed the full 90 minutes of the match to help his side win the title.
After a vivacious 120 minutes of football, the two teams had to be separated via penalty shootouts with Gent emerging as winners.
The game had to travel to penalties after a goalless draw with Gent beating Anderlecht 4-3 on penalties.
Elisha Owusu replaced Baba Iddrisu in the second half in the Black Stars 1-1 draw against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup to be staged in Qatar. The four-time African Champions booked qualification to the mundial via away good rule.
Owusu will be hpoing to make the Black Stars for the World Cup.
