Ghanaian midfielder Kwasi Sibo has emerged as a transfer target for Israeli top-flight club Maccabi Haifa following his departure from Spanish side Real Oviedo.
The 28-year-old central midfielder became a free agent after leaving Oviedo on July 1, 2026, with Maccabi Haifa reportedly monitoring his situation ahead of the new season.
No official agreement or transfer fee has been confirmed, with the potential move still at the negotiation and speculation stage.
Sibo enhanced his profile after representing Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he made four appearances, starting in 75 percent of the matches and featuring for 69 percent of the available playing time.
The experienced midfielder spent the last two seasons with Real Oviedo, whom he joined from SD Amorebieta in July 2024. During his time at the Spanish club, he made 26 La Liga appearances and played a key role in their campaign.
Across his career in Spain, Sibo has also accumulated 73 appearances in La Liga 2, scoring twice in the competition.
Before his return to Spain, the Ghanaian midfielder had a spell in England with Watford, where he made 20 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He has also represented Betis Deportivo and UD Ibiza, while gaining early European experience in Albania and Armenia.
