Former Senegal international Khalilou Fadiga has mentioned the Black Stars of Ghana as part of the favorite teams expected to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 33rd edition of the AFCON commences on Sunday and Fadiga who starred for Senegal at the 2002 FIFA World Cup believes the Cameroon tournament will be a tough one to predict despite declaring Senegal as the team with the most quality.
“It’s simple: there are no longer small teams. There are teams that we expect like Ghana, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt and Cameroon, which will play at home … But besides that, we will have to respect everyone because the field is very statement. Either way, we’ll have to beat everyone, ” he said in an interview with Belgian media firm rtbf.
Ghana is in the same group as Morocco, Gabon and Comoros. The Black Stars take on the North Africans on Monday for their opening match of the tournament.
