1. Frimpong Manso starts with a big bang
The new era at Dun’s Park got underway with an impressive display from Bibiani Gold Stars. Frimpong Manso couldn’t ask for more than the 3-0 destruction of Samartex. A brace from Alex Asso in the 20th and 65th minute put the home team in a commanding lead as Prince Owusu wrapped up a beautiful debut for Frimpong Manso in the 80th minute. Dun’s Park will hope for more of this moment.
2. Accra Great Olympics halt Asante Kotoko’s winning run
Oly Dade shared the spoils with Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as they became the first team in five matches to steal a point against Kotoko. Prosper Nateh Ogum’s Kotoko has been in a blistering form compared to Annor Walker’s Great Olympics who had gone four games without a win. Oly Dade has now recorded zero wins in their last Premier League games even though the point against Asante Kotoko will be a good one for their confidence.
3. Richmond Ayi’s blunders are becoming unbearable
Abdul Bashiru lamented Ayi’s continued blunders which are costing Hearts of Oak points. A 9th-minute strike from Hamza Issah put the away team ahead at Abrankese against Nations FC but a calamitous blunder from Ayi in the 94th minute stopped Hearts from a historic win. Richmond Ayi was at fault at Baba Yara in Hearts of Oak’s 3-2 defeat in the Super Clash. For how long is he going to let Hearts of Oak down? He was very apologetic at Abrankese soon after the game as he had a mini meeting with some of the Phobia fans to calm things down.
4. Bright Adjei is still alive
Bright Adjei’s 17th-minute strike was enough to secure a crucial win for Aduana Stars as the Ogya Boys triumphed 1-0 against the in-form Bechem United. Bright Adjei won 3 points against Hearts of Oak and he did it again on Friday against Bechem United. He is at the twilight of his career but nothing shows that Mr B.B.C is slowing down anytime soon. The man who has loved Aduana Stars to the moon and back is still alive and delivering when it matters most.
5. Tano Bofoakwa is paying the price for hitting Maxwell Konadu
Tano Bofoakwa is in a free fall as their performance has been so poor lately. With just one win in the last 10 games, Bofoakwa Tano needs a lift. They’re serving three home match ban as they have lost against Samartex (2-0) at Abrankese and Legon Cities (1-0) in the two games of the 3 they’re playing away from Sunyani. It is a huge blow for Bofoakwa to play away from Sunyani Coronation Park. They are just two points above the relegation zone and must start picking up points. They are paying the price for mauling Maxwell Konadu.
