The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that all its competitions will take a scheduled one-week break to allow participants in football to exercise their civic duties during the national General Elections on December 7, 2024.
According to the GFA Calendar for the 2024/25 season, the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and other competitions will pause after this weekend’s matches. These include the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 and Matchday 6 of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
All competitions are expected to resume on the weekend of Friday, December 13, 2024. The clubs and match officials were already informed of this break in the league’s fixtures, with this announcement serving as a formal reminder.
The GFA encourages all football participants and Ghanaians to engage in the elections peacefully and wishes the nation a successful electoral process.
