Hearts of Oak’s struggles continued on Sunday afternoon as they were held to a 0-0 draw by relegation-threatened Karela United at the Accra Sports Stadium, extending their winless streak to three matches.
The Phobians delivered a lackluster performance, lacking urgency and creativity throughout the match. Despite enjoying 64% of the possession, Hearts could only register one shot on target from 11 attempts, once again highlighting their struggles in the final third.
Karela United, meanwhile, managed just three shots all game and failed to test goalkeeper Benjamin Asare but remained compact and disciplined defensively to frustrate the home side.
The result sees Hearts remain fifth on the league table with 42 points, now 11 points adrift of leaders Gold Stars. The performance raises further concerns for coach Aboubakar Ouattara as they prepare for the highly anticipated Super Clash against Asante Kotoko next weekend.
Karela United, buoyed by the point, have now moved out of the relegation zone and will look to build on the result when they welcome Dreams FC in their next fixture.
