Asante Kotoko recorded a thumping win over Kotoku Royals in their matchday 14 fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, January 29.
Asante Kotoko took the lead in the 11th minute, and Richmond Lamptey scored with ease to give his club the lead.
Kotoko were then awarded a spot kick as Steven Mukwala was fouled inside the box as a result of the Porcupine Warriors’ pressure on the Kotoku Royals. The Ugandan took the penalty kick and scored.
In the 29th minute, Francis Andy Kumi pulled a goal back for Kotoku Royals to make it 2-1 before the break.
Serge Zeze Eric added the fourth goal, Steven Mukwala scored his second goal in the 61st minute, and Solomon Sarfo Taylor completed Kotoko’s triumph in the 90’+5 minute.
The win sees Kotoko move into second position with 24 points, one point behind Aduana Stars after 14 games played.
