In-form midfielder Salim Adams delivered a commanding performance to lead Medeama SC to a crucial 2-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars FC, strengthening their position at the summit of the Ghana Premier League.

In a highly anticipated encounter between the league’s top two sides, Medeama asserted their dominance early at the TnA Stadium, with Adams emerging as the central figure in a decisive first-half display.

The midfielder opened the scoring from the penalty spot after his side took control of proceedings, showing composure to convert and hand the hosts a deserved lead.He later doubled Medeama’s advantage in spectacular fashion, curling home a superb free-kick that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

The strike capped an outstanding first-half performance and underlined his technical quality and influence in midfield.Medeama maintained their intensity and organisation after the break, controlling the tempo of the match while remaining disciplined at the back. Their defensive solidity ensured that Gold Stars, despite their efforts to respond, were unable to find a breakthrough.

The visitors, who came into the fixture as reigning champions, attempted to mount a comeback but struggled to penetrate Medeama’s well-structured defence.

Their attacking efforts lacked the cutting edge required to trouble the home side, as Medeama expertly managed the game to secure all three points. The victory extends Medeama’s unbeaten home record against Gold Stars and further highlights their consistency in crucial matches.

More importantly, the result sees them open a five-point gap at the top of the table, now sitting on 56 points with only four matches remaining in the season.

Gold Stars, trailing on 51 points, now face increasing pressure to respond strongly in their remaining fixtures if they are to keep their title hopes alive and push the race to the final day

.Medeama’s latest triumph not only reinforces their credentials as genuine title contenders but also places them firmly in control of the championship race as the season edges closer to its conclusion.
