Oumar Nafal and Ebenezer Adade delivered decisive performances as Dreams FC secured an emphatic 2-0 victory over Asante Kotoko in their Week 31 encounter in the Ghana Premier League.

Dreams FC asserted control early in the match at the Tuba Astroturf in Accra, demonstrating intent and cohesion from the opening minutes. Their bright start paid off in the 12th minute when Nafal calmly finished off a well-constructed attacking move to hand the hosts a deserved lead.

The early goal set the tone for the contest, with Dreams FC maintaining a disciplined structure and fluid attacking transitions that unsettled Kotoko throughout the first half. Despite enjoying spells of possession, Kotoko struggled to translate their control into meaningful chances, lacking precision and cutting edge in the final third.

After the break, Dreams FC sustained their intensity and continued to dictate the tempo of the game. Their persistence was rewarded in the 52nd minute when Adade doubled the advantage, capitalising on another attacking opportunity to effectively put the game beyond the reach of the visitors.

Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most decorated clubs, endured a frustrating afternoon as their attacking inefficiencies persisted. Their inability to break down Dreams FC’s organised defensive setup highlighted ongoing struggles, particularly in away fixtures where consistency has remained elusive.Dreams FC, on the other hand, displayed tactical discipline and composure, expertly managing the game after extending their lead.

Their defensive solidity ensured that Kotoko were kept at bay, with the visitors failing to mount any significant comeback. The result marks another important step forward for Dreams FC, extending their impressive run of form and reinforcing their push for a strong finish in the league.

The victory lifts them to seventh place on the table with 43 points from 30 matches, drawing level on points with Kotoko but moving ahead on momentum and recent performances.

For Asante Kotoko, the defeat deepens concerns as their winless run continues, with their position slipping to eighth place. The Porcupine Warriors now face mounting pressure to rediscover form in the closing stages of the season if they are to re-enter contention among the league’s frontrunners.

Dreams FC’s commanding display not only highlights their growing confidence but also signals their determination to finish the campaign on a high note, while Kotoko must regroup quickly to salvage their season.
