Ghana Premier League: Tamale City beat Hearts of Oak 4-1

Newly promoted team Tamale City FC on Wednesday afternoon whitewashed Accra Hearts of Oak SC in the Ghana Premier League at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.

The YYellow and Blue outfit beat the former Ghana Premier League champions 4-1 in the round 28 clash to boost their survival hopes.

In-form striker, Sampson Eduku bagged a stupendous hat-trick for the home team as they won heavy at home in the Premier League against the 2020-21 winners.

The striker produced a moment of magic and sheer determination to get his team in the lead on the 17th minute mark when he went past three Hearts of Oak players before his deflected shot went past Ofori Antwi.

Eduku converted a 35th minute mark spot kick to make it 2-0 to the home team who were in a comfortable lead before the break.

The former Skyy FC attacker, Eduku completed his hat-trick on the day 11 minutes into the second half of the match with another brilliant strike to make it 3-0.

Eleven minutes to the end of the match, Victor Aidoo reduced the deficit to two with a fine strike into the bottom left corner but it was not enough to rescue the underfiring Phobians.

Deep iinto additional time period of the match, Isaac Mensah added the icing on the cake goal to make it 4-1 at the end of the match for the home team.
