Head coach of Bibiani Goldstars, Frimpong Manso, has dismissed suggestions that the Ghana Premier League title race is a two-horse contest between his side and Asante Kotoko, highlighting Nations FC as serious contenders.
As things stand after 26 matches, Goldstars and Asante Kotoko are tied at the top with 47 points each, closely followed by Nations FC with 45 points and defending champions Medeama with 41.
With seven games left in the season, Manso believes the title race remains wide open but reaffirmed his side’s ambition to go all the way.
“The Ghana Premier League title race is not between Kotoko and Goldstars alone. As we speak, Nations FC are also in strong contention. We want to win the league and that is our objective now, but it will all depend on how we approach the remaining matches,” he said.
Goldstars are preparing for a tough away fixture against Bechem United on Wednesday afternoon in an outstanding league encounter. Both sides will be aiming for all three points in what promises to be a high-stakes clash.
