The opening day of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season saw Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC end their three games winless run against Karela United FC on the road.
Asante Kotoko got off to flying start with a hard fought win over the Passion and Pride outfit as they returned home with all three points.
Albert Amoah scored the only goal in the 36th minute of the match to win all three points for the Porcupine Warriors.
The host did everything possible in the second half of the game to try and get back into the game but the Reds were resolute at the back and grabbed their first win of the season.
Asante Kotoko will face FA Cup holders Nsoatreman FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex and Karela play Berekum Chelsea next on the road.
