Ghana Premier League Week 12: Aduana Stars entertain Asante Kotoko in Dormaa

Asante Kotoko will aim to end their four-match losing streak when they take on Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Stadium in Dormaa on Sunday.

The two sides last faced off in March 2024, with Aduana securing a 2-1 victory. The hosts will be looking to build on that success as they come into the match unbeaten in their last four games. Aduana’s recent form includes two wins and two draws, the most recent being a 1-1 stalemate against Nsoatreman. However, consistency in attack remains a challenge, as they have managed just 10 goals in 11 matches this season. To secure all three points, Aduana will need a sharper attacking performance against a struggling Kotoko side.

For Asante Kotoko, the current situation is dire. The Porcupine Warriors are reeling from four consecutive defeats against Nations FC, Bechem United, Heart of Lions, and Legon Cities. Defensive frailties have been their undoing, with goals conceded in each of their last five matches. Despite having a record of four wins, three draws, and four losses this season, Kotoko’s inability to keep clean sheets has overshadowed their efforts.

Historically, Kotoko have had the edge in this matchup, winning four of their last six meetings, while Aduana have managed just one victory. This record may provide Kotoko with a mental boost, but they must address their defensive lapses to stand a chance against Aduana’s resilient approach.

Aduana will look to exploit Kotoko’s poor form and secure a crucial home win, while Kotoko will be desperate to turn their season around and regain confidence with a victory. The clash promises to be a battle of determination as both teams seek vital points.
