Bibiani Gold Stars were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Ghana Premier League defending champions FC Samartex at Dun’s Park on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
The home side had been aiming for their fourth consecutive home victory, but the Timber Giants put up a resilient performance, determined to break their two-game winless streak.
Gold Stars also had their sights set on securing all three points to strengthen their position in the title race, but both teams struggled to convert their chances.
Despite creating opportunities in both halves, neither side managed to find the back of the net. The match ended in a draw, just as their first-round encounter, which ended 1-1.
With this result, Bibiani Gold Stars remain second in the league standings, continuing to chase leaders Asante Kotoko, while FC Samartex stays in 9th place.
Gold Stars will hit the road for a tough clash against Basake Holy Stars, who are making their debut in the top flight. Meanwhile, Samartex will look to bounce back when they host Medeama in their next fixture.
