Karela United secured a much-needed 2-1 victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Naa Sheriga Sports Centre in Nalerigu, offering a boost to their survival hopes despite remaining in the relegation zone.
The home side made an early breakthrough when Alhassan Adamu found the net in the 12th minute, giving Karela a vital lead. Determined to end their four-game losing streak, they maintained their momentum throughout the first half.
Adamu struck again in the 48th minute, doubling Karela’s advantage just before halftime. His brace underlined Karela’s determination to turn their season around.
Berekum Chelsea responded in the 80th minute with a consolation goal, briefly shifting the game’s intensity. However, despite their efforts, they couldn’t complete a comeback, bringing an end to their two-game winning run.
Karela United will now shift focus to their upcoming away fixture against Accra Lions, where they aim to build on this win. Meanwhile, Berekum Chelsea will prepare to face Nsoatreman as they seek to return to winning ways.
