Asante Kotoko host relegated Bofoakwa Tano at home on Sunday June 16, 2024, hoping to end the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League season on a high note.

The Porcupine Warriors will still finish outside the top-four even if they beat the FA Cup finalists at the Baba Yara Stadium, in what has been a torrid campaign for the Ghanaian giants.

Kotoko recorded a 2-0 win at Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex in Nalerigu at the weekend to move up to 9th on the league table.

The visitors, whose relegation was confirmed two weeks ago, lost 0-1 at home to Berekum Chelsea in their last encounter.

The record Ghana Premier League holders have accumulated 46 points from 33 games, having won 3 and suffered 2 defeats in their last 5 matches.

The Porcupine Warriors have managed to secure 27 points at home in this campaign, scoring 15 and conceding 10 in the process.

Dr. Prosper Ogum’s side are ranked as the second weakest home side after 16 appearances. The former Premier league champions head into this fixture with a defeat in their last home league game against Accra Great Olympics.

Relegated Bofoakwa Tano are winless in their last 5 encounters, placed 17th on the table after 33 matches.

The Bofo lads have managed to accumulate 10 points away from home this season, scoring 9 and conceding 19 goals.

They are yet to record an away win after 16 appearances and are ranked as the 5th underperforming side in this campaign.

Asante Kotoko are yet to host Bofoakwa Tano at home in the league after the returnees joined the Premiership in the 2023/24 season.

The likes of Justice Blay, Emmanuel Kotei, Enoch Morrison, Serge Eric Zeze, Andrews Ntim, Nicholas Bonsu, Yahaya Baba, Nurudeen Yussif Mohammed, Peter Acquah, Bernard Somuah, Issahak Fuseini, Shadrack Addo, Sherif Mohammed and Kalo Ouattara could be available for the game on Sunday.

Bofoakwa Tano skipper Saaka Dauda is likely to start the game on Sunday.

Elijah Addai, Ado Zack, Aboagye Dacosta, Emmanuel Agyenim Boateng, Andrew Appau, Alhassan Ali, Emmanuel Ankrah, Isaac Baffoe, Bright Boakye Kyereh, Solomon Obilitey, Stephen Owusu, Clinton Baffour, Dana Blessing and Charles Mensah could all be available for selection.
