Ghana National team authorities confirmed last week that the team will camp in Johannesburg, South Africa to prepare for AFCON 2023 which is less than 3 weeks before the big kick-off in Ivory Coast.

Per Fentuo Tahiru of JoySports, Black Stars authorities are reviewing the decision to set up a camping base in South Africa.

Fentuo tweeted, “Sources have told me the Sports Ministry and the GFA are reconsidering the decision to camp in South Africa ahead of the AFCON.

They now favour camping in KUMASI and will play Namibia in a pre-tournament friendly when it’s all sorted out”.

The decision to camp in South Africa was not welcomed at all by Fhanaiaans as the weather conditions in South Africa are different from those in the Ivory Coast.

Ghana is in Group B of AFVON 2023 alongside Cape Verde, Mozambique and Egypt.
