Ghana International Jordan Ayew has challenged his teammates at Crystal Palace to improve their game ahead of the start of the 2023/24 season.
After signing his contract extension at the club, Ayew is expected to play a key role for the Eagles once again under Roy Hogdson in the upcoming season.
The forward enjoyed a good pre-season with club during the break but cautioned his teammates as they chase an improvement from last season’s finish.
“We need to stay humble and keep on working hard, because we know we have a lot of work to do if we want to be at the top,” Ayew said in an interview with the club’s media.
“We need to improve on certain aspects of the game and we know that demands time, but we’ll get there.
”The most important thing is to always put in performances and show that we’re building on what we did last season, and to continue playing strongly.”
Crystal Palace face Sheffield United away from home in their first Premier League game on Saturday.
