UD Almeria, a team in the Spanish La Liga, has confirmed the acquisition of Ghanaian midfielder Iddrisu Baba from fellow La Liga side Real Mallorca.
The talented midfielder’s move is structured as a season-long loan with an included purchase option.
UD Almeria officially unveiled the signing of Iddrisu Baba through a statement shared on their official Twitter account on Thursday night.
The announcement read, “Iddrisu Baba, the newest addition to UD Almería! The footballer arrives on loan, with a purchase option, from RCD Mallorca. Welcome!”
Before the transfer was made public, Black Stars midfielder Baba Iddrisu bid farewell to RCD Mallorca on Wednesday, signaling the imminent change.
Having initially joined Mallorca in 2014, transitioning from Leganes’ youth team, the 27-year-old midfielder accumulated a commendable total of 91 appearances during his tenure with the club.
However, Baba Iddrisu’s playing time faced constraints in the recent season, largely attributed to injuries. These injury concerns have persisted over the past two seasons, impacting his availability on the field.
The departure of the Ghanaian midfielder from Mallorca marks the conclusion of an association spanning nearly a decade with the team.
