Everton retain a strong interest in signing Ghana and Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, but they face competition from Italian giants AC Milan, as reported by Calciomercato.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Goodison Park during the summer transfer window, but the Toffees failed to land him despite reaching a personal agreement with the player.
Milan have already circled Kudus as an option in their transfer notebook, while Tottenham Hotspur and clubs in Germany are equally keen to get his signature.
Kudus has started the new campaign strongly and has managed 10 goals in 21 games across all competitions.
He was terrific during the Champions League campaign for Ajax, although the Dutch giants didn’t progress to the last 16.
The Ghana international will be looking to make a strong impression in the World Cup in Qatar, and interested clubs will be carefully observing him.
Ajax could sell him in January if the price is right, but the Toffees may struggle to lure him to Goodison Park.
Along with signing a striker, the Toffees also need to bolster their attacking midfield areas and Kudus would be a terrific signing for the club, as he can fit in both roles.
At Ajax, he has been used as a centre-forward in as many as nine games this season, where he has come up with a return of seven goals and two assists.
Kudus is a fast, skillful, versatile forward and he is exactly the type of player Everton need in January.
