Ghana striker Brandon Thomas-Asante made a return from injury to play for Coventry City in their crucial 2-1 win over Leicester City in the EFL Championship clash on Saturday afternoon.
Frank Lampard boosted by the return to fitness of midfielder Victor Torp and leading scorer Brandon Thomas-Asante – both of whom are said to be “back in contention” after recovering from a calf strain and hamstring tear, respectively.
Jordan James scored on the 10th minute mark of the game to put Leicester City ahead before his lead was later cancelled by Ellis Simms in the 47th minute.
The the game almost ending one apiece, Haji Wright scored a very important goal five minutes from stoppage time to give Coventry City all three points to boast their Premier League promotion.
Thomas-Asante got a warm reception as he returned to action, replacing Rudoni for the last seven minutes to help his team secure the big victory against his Ghanaian compatroits Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Jordan Ayew.
