Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan has completed a permanent transfer from Italian side Cremonese to Turkish club Igdır FK, bringing an end to his three-year spell with the Serie B outfit.
The 22-year-old signed a two-year contract on Thursday after an impressive season in Turkey, where he spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Amedspor.
Afena-Gyan was one of Amedspor’s standout performers, registering five goals and six assists as the club secured promotion to the Turkish Super Lig. His performances attracted interest from several clubs, but Iğdır FK ultimately secured his signature.
The former AS Roma striker burst onto the scene under José Mourinho before completing a €7.5 million move to Cremonese in 2022. Although he struggled to establish himself consistently in Italy, his loan spell in Turkey helped revive his career and earned him another opportunity in the country.
Despite his impressive form, Afena-Gyan was overlooked for Ghana’s squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with head coach Carlos Queiroz opting for other attacking options.
The move to Igdır FK offers the Black Stars forward another platform to continue his development and push for a return to the national team ahead of future international assignments.
