Former Ashanti Gold striker Shafiu Mumuni says Iraq is a great place to play football.
The ex Black Galaxies skipper has played in the Iraqi league for three seasons and he maintains the wages are good.
“The sports infrastructure in Iraq is better. I wish our leaders in Ghana can visit there one day to see how competitive the Iraqi league is.” Shafiu stated.
“In Iraq, if a club doesn’t have a good sponsor the football hierarchy won’t allow the said club to partake in the professional league.”
“Even a player in the second tier league takes around 3,000 dollars and players in the top tier league takes 5,000 dollars or more.”
Shafiu who plays for Al-kharabaa SC is among the top players in the league.
