The draw for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers took place in Cairo, confirming a highly anticipated matchup between Ghana and Nigeria as both teams vie for a spot in the finals.

The Black Galaxies are gearing up for a crucial two-legged encounter against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the WAFU B qualifiers, as they aim to secure their place in the tournament scheduled to be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The qualification process consists of two rounds. Ghana, drawn into the second round, will face Nigeria with the first leg slated for December 20-22, 2024, followed by the return leg from December 27-29, 2024.

The path to qualification will kick off with the first round, where Togo will go head-to-head with Benin. Their first leg is scheduled for October 25-27, 2024, and the second leg will take place on November 1-3, 2024. The winners of this matchup will advance to the second round, where they will face higher-seeded teams, including Ghana.

A total of 40 nations will participate in the qualifiers, which will unfold in two rounds to determine the final teams for the eighth edition of this prestigious tournament.

Ghana eliminated Nigeria to secure qualification to the last edition of the CHAN tournament in Algeria after post-match penalty shootouts after a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.
