Ghana’s U-15 boys’ team earned a historic bronze medal after mounting an impressive comeback to defeat Uganda 2-1 in the third-place match of the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship (ASFC).
Led by coach Kwaku Danso, the young Ghanaian side showed great resilience, fighting back from a goal down to secure a podium finish at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Uganda, who had suffered a semifinal defeat to Senegal on Friday, April 25, came out strong and found an early breakthrough, heading into halftime with a 1-0 advantage over Ghana.
But the Ghanaian team responded with determination in the second half, scoring two vital goals to overturn the deficit and claim the victory. The result delivered Ghana’s first-ever medal in the history of the ASFC.
This achievement is even more remarkable as it came during Ghana’s debut appearance at the tournament, after missing out on the previous two editions.
