Otto Addo, the head coach of Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, has hinted at the possibility of giving playing opportunities to those who didn’t feature in the previous friendly against Nigeria, in the upcoming match against Uganda. Following their 2-1 loss to the Super Eagles last Friday, the Black Stars are set to face the Cranes today.
In an interview with the Ghana Football Association media team before the match, Coach Otto Addo expressed openness to the idea of fielding fresh legs. He emphasized the importance of seeking victory while also considering the opportunity to evaluate players who haven’t had much playing time.
“I am not quite sure yet. Surely I think it won’t be bad to try fresh legs. Also in spite of the result, surely we are looking to win like every game. But also it’s another opportunity for me to see one or two players who haven’t played and I am still thinking if I should give one or two new players the chance in the first half, if not may be in the second half so we will see,” Coach Otto Addo said.
Addo reiterated the team’s determination to secure a win against Uganda, aiming to bounce back from the defeat against Nigeria. The friendly match between Ghana and Uganda is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm in Morocco.
As the Black Stars gear up for their encounter with Uganda, anticipation is high among fans eager to see how the team performs. With Addo’s strategic planning and potential inclusion of new players, Ghana aims to showcase their resilience and bounce back with a strong performance on the field.
The match against Uganda presents an opportunity for players to prove themselves and stake their claim for future selection. Addo’s approach emphasizes fairness and meritocracy, ensuring that every player is given a chance to contribute to the team’s success.
