Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew, will join his teammates in Ghana when they begin camping to prepare for the crucial encounter with Nigeria in the World Cup playoffs later this month.
Ghana, four-time African Champions, will host the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the first leg of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers on 25th March, 2022 at the Cape Coast Stadium without Andre Ayew.
The Al Sadd star was handed a red card in Ghana’s last game in the 2021 AFCON against Comoros, making him ineligible to play in the country’s next two competitive games.
The game against Nigeria in Ghana will be the first of the two before he completes the ban when Ghana play in Nigeria four days later.
Despite being suspended, Ayew is expected to be in Ghana to serve as a cheerleader for the team ahead of the crucial encounter.
Meanwhile, Ghana interim coach Otto Addo is expected to announce the Black Stars squad for the two games.
