Ghanaian attacker Abdul -Aziz Yakubu was on the score sheet over the weekend as Rio Ave beat CD Trofense by a lone goal to nil to move on top of the Portuguese second tier league.
Yakubu converted a 35th minute penalty to hand Rio Ave all three points at the Estadio dis Arcos as they leapfrog Casa Pia on top of the table.
The Ghanaian forward was outstanding in the final end of the field as he remained a threat to the Trofense defenders before he was substituted in the 81st minute.

Yakubu who is on loan from Vitoria Guimaraes has scored ten goals in 27 league games this season.
