Ghana international Patrick Twumasi has secured his first piece of silverware with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors after the club claimed the revived K League Super Cup title.
Twumasi was an unused substitute as Jeonbuk recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory over Daejeon Hana Citizen at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium. Goals from Motta and Tiago sealed the win, handing the club the curtain-raiser trophy ahead of the new season.
The Super Cup returned after nearly two decades, with Jeonbuk featuring as double champions and Daejeon as league runners-up, marking a historic moment in Korean football.
Twumasi joined Jeonbuk last summer after leaving Pafos FC. The former Hannover 96 forward has earned three caps for Ghana since his 2017 debut and will hope this latest success boosts both his club and international prospects.
