Ghanaian forward Patrick Twumasi netted his fifth league goal of the season in the Israeli Premier League as Beitar Jerusalem played out a 3-3 draw with Hapoel Jerusalem in a thrilling Jerusalem derby on Sunday night at the Teddy Stadium.
The match started with an early goal from Hapoel’s Cedric Franck Don, who put his side ahead just five minutes into the game. However, Beitar responded quickly, with Russian defender Grigori Morozov equalizing for the visitors three minutes later.
Don found the back of the net again in the 32nd minute, restoring Hapoel’s lead, but it was short-lived as Israel international Yarden Shua scored to level the game once more.
Twumasi then put Beitar in front for the first time in the match, scoring in the 72nd minute to give his team a 3-2 advantage. But Hapoel fought back, with midfielder Awaka Eshata scoring in the 83rd minute, assisted by Ivorian defender Eloge Yao, to ensure the points were shared.
Twumasi was substituted in the 85th minute, making way for Costa Rican forward Mayron George Clayton.
The former Black Stars player has been in strong form this season, with five goals and an assist in 10 appearances in the Israeli top division.
