Anton Donkor, the German-born Ghanaian midfielder, played a significant role in Eintracht Braunschweig’s 2-2 draw with FC Nürnberg in the Bundesliga 2 on a Saturday afternoon.
Despite their efforts at the Eintracht-Stadion, Eintracht Braunschweig was unable to secure a victory. Anton Donkor was featured in the starting lineup and completed the full 90 minutes.
It wasn’t until the 29th minute that the hosts managed to score their first goal. Anthony Ujah headed the ball into the top right corner of the net, assisted by Anton Donkor’s precise cross, resulting in a 1-0 lead.
However, FC Nürnberg responded swiftly, with Kanji Okunuki equalizing in the 38th minute. Okunuki’s well-placed right-footed shot from the left side of the box found the bottom right corner, thanks to a through ball by Tim Handwerker, making it 1-1.
Just two minutes later, in the 40th minute, the visiting team managed to take the lead. Benjamin Goller’s right-footed shot from the center of the box found the bottom right corner of the net, once again assisted by Tim Handwerker.
However, Anthony Ujah came to Eintracht Braunschweig’s rescue with another goal in the 60th minute, ensuring they avoided defeat.
In their upcoming league game, Eintracht Braunschweig will be on the road to face Hansa Rostock.
