German-born Ghanaian defender Derrick Kohn played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s 3-1 victory over Konyaspor, securing the Turkish Super Lig title on the final day of the season.
The 25-year-old left-back played the full match at Medaş Konya Büyükşehir Stadyumu, where his team clinched maximum points.
Kohn assisted Mauro Icardi’s opening goal in the 29th minute, giving Galatasaray a lead going into halftime.
After the break, Icardi scored again to extend Galatasaray’s lead, followed by a goal from Berkan Kutlu, sealing the win for the visitors.
Although Denmark international Louka Prip scored for Konyaspor, the match ended 3-1 in favor of Galatasaray.
The title race was intense, with Galatasaray just three points ahead of Fenerbahce before the final matchday. The victory against Konyaspor confirmed Galatasaray as the 2023/24 Turkish Super Lig champions, finishing with 102 points from 38 matches.
Kohn, who joined Galatasaray from Hannover 96 in February 2024 on a contract running until 2026, made 12 league appearances, scoring once and providing one assist.
