Ghanaian defender Jerome Opoku was on the score sheet for FC Arouca as they beat Santa Clara on the road in Portugal League Cup on Friday evening.
The former Fulham FC player scored on the half hour mark of the match to put the away team in the lead with a beautiful finish in the first half.
Opoku was red carded five minutes into the second half of the match as he received his marching orders after a second yellow card inside the 50th minute.
Oday Dabbagh scored the winner late in the game after Matheus had scored the equalizer for the home despite Arouca playing with 9-men.
Opoku’s goal was crucial to the team as they won their second group game of the 2022-23 Portugal League Cup competition.
