Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu contributed an assist in Odense BK’s 2-1 defeat against Viborg in the Danish Superligaen on Saturday afternoon.
Heading into the match, the historical record between the two teams showed five victories for Viborg, seven for Odense, and eight draws.
Owusu was in the starting lineup at Energi Viborg Arena and played for 82 minutes. Despite both teams having equal possession, Odense BK generated more scoring opportunities.
The match’s first goal came in the 12th minute when Max Fenger of Odense scored a right-footed shot from a challenging angle on the right, finding the top right corner. Leeroy Owusu provided the assist.
Viborg equalized in the 51st minute with Jakob Vester scoring a left-footed shot from close range, assisted by a headed pass from Anosike Ementa.
The comeback was completed in the 76th minute when Magnus Westergaard scored for Viborg with a left-footed shot from close range, following a through ball from Anosike Ementa.
This season, Owusu has made 28 appearances in the Danish Superligaen, contributing five assists.
