Ghanaian footballers Jeffrey Schlupp and Jordan Ayew are poised to etch their names in Crystal Palace folklore, showcasing remarkable longevity and dedication to the London-based club.
Since their respective arrivals from Leicester City and Swansea City, Schlupp and Ayew have demonstrated unwavering commitment and relentless work ethic on the field.
Both players rank among the top five Crystal Palace players with the highest number of appearances in the English Premier League, with Schlupp occupying the fourth position and Ayew closely behind in fifth.
Schlupp’s journey began after clinching the English Premier League title with Leicester City in 2016, subsequently making 199 EPL appearances for the Eagles. Despite encountering injury setbacks in recent seasons, Schlupp’s impact remains significant.
On the other hand, Ayew recently celebrated a significant milestone, marking his 200th appearance for Crystal Palace during the clash against Burnley. The Ghanaian forward has featured in 183 EPL games for the South London outfit, solidifying his place in the club’s history.
While Ayew trails Schlupp on the appearance list, both players aim to surpass the records set by James McArthur (240 matches), Wilfried Zaha (291), and Joel Ward (297).
Ayew’s recent outstanding performance earned him the title of Crystal Palace’s February Player of the Month, underscoring his invaluable contributions with two goals and an assist during the month.
