Ecuadorian-Ghanaian attacker John Yeboah rounded off an outstanding season by providing a decisive assist as Venezia FC defeated Palermo FC to secure promotion to Serie A on the final day of the campaign.
Yeboah produced a brilliant low cross moments after the restart, allowing Alioune Ndour Doumbia to fire home in the 46th minute and hand Venezia the breakthrough at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.
The hosts, already in control of the league standings, managed the game professionally and limited Palermo’s attacking threat while remaining dangerous on the counterattack.
Substitute Mattia Compagnon sealed the victory deep into stoppage time with a second goal, sparking celebrations among the home supporters as Venezia confirmed a 2-0 triumph and wrapped up a title-winning Serie B campaign.
Yeboah once again proved influential in Venezia’s attack, with the assist taking his impressive tally for the 2025/26 league season to 10 goals and 9 assists in 34 appearances.
Venezia finished the Serie B season with 82 points, boasting both the league’s best attack and the highest number of clean sheets across the 38-match campaign.
Having secured a return to Italy’s top flight, Venezia will now begin preparations for life in Serie A, with Yeboah expected to play a major role thanks to his versatility, creativity, and attacking output.
