German Bundesliga 2 side Schalke 04 has officially signed Ghanaian international Christopher Antwi-Adjei during the ongoing transfer window.
The former Black Stars winger joins Schalke 04 as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Bundesliga club Bochum in June 2024, ending his three-year tenure with the team.
Antwi-Adjei has signed a two-year contract with Schalke 04, which will keep him at the club until June 2026. He has been assigned jersey number 18 and is expected to play a crucial role in the Royals Blues’ bid to return to the German top flight.
Having spent almost his entire career in Germany, Antwi-Adjei brings a wealth of experience to Schalke 04. He has played for several clubs, including Paderborn and Bochum, where he made 25 appearances last season, contributing two goals and two assists as Bochum narrowly avoided relegation.
Antwi-Adjei’s career began with Fortuna Hagen in 1999, and he later played for youth sides at Hasper SV, MSV Duisburg, Eintracht Dortmund, and Westfalia Herne. He made his senior debut in the Oberliga Westphalia with Westfalia Herne in 2013 before moving to TSG Sprockhövel and then SC Paderborn 07, where he was instrumental in their double promotion to the Bundesliga.
The Ghanaian international has 113 appearances in the German top flight and 62 in the Bundesliga 2. Since his debut in November 2019, he has earned three caps for the Black Stars. At Schalke 04, Antwi-Adjei is set to add depth and experience as the club aims for promotion.
