Ghanaian forward Daniel Agyei continued his impressive form this season, capping off Leyton Orient’s dominant 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers in an English League One clash on Tuesday night.
Playing under the lights at Brisbane Road in London, Leyton Orient took control early in the Round 18 fixture. Defender Daniel Happe opened the scoring in the 17th minute, setting the tone for a commanding performance.
Ireland U21 international Ollie O’Neill extended the lead in the 29th minute before Agyei sealed the victory on the stroke of halftime with a composed finish to make it 3-0.
The win was a crucial result for Leyton Orient, lifting them out of the relegation zone and providing a morale boost as they continue their fight to stay above the drop.
English-born Ghanaian youngster Gatlin O’Donkor featured for Bristol Rovers, coming on as a substitute in the 66th minute to replace Ruel Sotiriou. However, his efforts could not spark a comeback for the visitors.
Agyei’s goal followed his match-winning strike in extra time during Leyton Orient’s dramatic FA Cup victory over Oldham Athletic last weekend. The 25-year-old forward now boasts eight goals and three assists in 25 appearances across all competitions this season.
Leyton Orient will look to build on this momentum as they continue their League One campaign, with Agyei proving to be a key figure in their attack.
