Former Ghana youth international Eric Ayiah scored his maiden goal for CD Trofense in their league game against Sanjoanense on Sunday afternoon.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, Ayiah opened the scoring for the away side in the 52nd minute.
The Ghanaian beat the goalkeeper from the penalty spot to ensure he netted his maiden goal for his new club and give them a deserving lead in the encounter.
However, having been reduced to 10 men, Trofense were unable to hold onto thwie lead with the home side scoring twice in the 69th and 82nd minute respectively.
Nuno Valente equalise for Trofense but the away side conceded once again in the dying embers of the game to succumb to yet another defeat.
Ayiah has now scored his first goal for the team and will be looking to add to his tally in subsequent games having joined the club in the summer from Gil Vicente.
