Forster Ajago made a memorable impact off the bench, scoring his first MLS goal for Real Salt Lake in their 2-0 victory over Seattle Sounders on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The Ghanaian forward entered the match in the 68th minute with his team already leading at America First Field. He wasted no time making his mark, finding the back of the net in the 79th minute to seal the win. This goal also marked his second in as many games, following his recent strike in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Ajago’s goal came from a well-executed give-and-go with Diogo Gonçalves. After receiving the ball in midfield, he played it off to Gonçalves, who returned a perfectly timed pass. Ajago then sprinted past his marker and placed his shot beyond a diving Stefan Frei.
Real Salt Lake had taken the lead early in the match, benefiting from an own goal in the 8th minute. A dangerous cross from Alex Katranis on the left flank caused confusion in the Seattle defense, leading Nouhou to inadvertently head the ball past his own goalkeeper despite Frei’s instructions.
The victory gives Real Salt Lake a strong start to the season, with Ajago proving to be a key attacking option.
