Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq has been honored by being named in the Dutch Eredivisie Team of the Week, following his outstanding performance for AZ Alkmaar in their recent match against Heerenveen.

Sadiq, a former Ghana U17 star, scored a goal and provided two assists as AZ Alkmaar secured a dominating 9-1 victory, marking the biggest win across Europe over the weekend. His contributions were key to the team’s remarkable performance.

Football statistics website Whoscored rated Sadiq highly, giving him an impressive score of 9.84. This made him the second-best player in the Dutch league for the weekend, only behind his teammate Troy Parrot, who scored four goals and achieved a perfect rating of 10.

The 24-year-old Sadiq has been in exceptional form this season, playing a crucial role in AZ Alkmaar’s strong start to the campaign. He was joined by teammates Parrot, Seiya Maikuma, Sven Mijnans, and Ruben van Bommel in the Eredivisie Team of the Week.

Other notable players included in the team are Groningen’s Marvin Peersman and Brynjolfur Willumsson Andersen, along with PSV’s Olivier Boscagli and Ringo Meerveld of Willem II. Sadiq was also recognized by Voetbal Zone and Voetbal Form, further cementing his place as one of the top performers of the week.
